What can you do. It's the whole nature/culture of the beast. I live just outside of Detroit - which is full of good shows - and because my day job has me up at 4:30 am (1), I have an unforgiving employer (Generous Motors) (2), I am hourly and I can't afford to blow days off if I could get them (3) and even if I could, I have a nasty sleep disorder which would make me a zombie for days even if all of the other conditions were in play to go.
As a result, I miss almost all of the great stuff going on under my nose - especially the fine Paxahau promotions.
I've always wondered how it is that 'everyone' else makes it to all of these mid-week gigs and parties which don't even start until hours after I'm in bed or even about the time I get up.
